In March 2023, a month after my daughter was born, I was searching for sun protection for my little one, hoping to find a sun shirt but in onesie form. As a parent navigating the world with now two children, I refused to leave her behind.

I was tired of hiding under a blanket at the skatepark to keep my baby hidden from the sun, constantly jumping from shade spot to shade spot (like I really had the energy to do that) to keep her shaded. Let's not even go down the sunscreen rabbit hole.

Armed with some sewing skills, a few patterns, and lots of coffee. I decided to bring my idea to life. A (now) dear friend dropped into my life via a local facebook group post. She graciously raised me in the garment industry, taught me all things sewing, and empowered me to bring this idea to life.

Sunsie's are made by moms in Salida, Colorado in a tiny, (like sewing in a 100 sq ft room, tiny), grassroots operation, but made with so much love.

My hope is that Sunsie makes getting outside easy without having to hide from the wonderful sunshine. Get out there, be wild, be free, and always be exploring.
